Description
Summary:The Telecommunications Industry is developing rapidly due to technical progress in general and the integration of computers and telecommunications in particular. The changes are affecting all aspects of society - business, public services and our private lives. As a result, the European Community has urged the Member States to adopt a common regulatory approach to the changing situation. This volume reports on the ensuing debate over the legal and economic consequences for Europe - a debate that is also valid for many other countries. It deals with the major aspects of telecommunications today. With the users' needs as a starting point, the papers analyze the modifications of the technical and economic structures and regulatory responses of the various countries, thus clarifying the important issues and the positions adopted by those involved.
