Summary:The Euromaidan protests in Kiev's (Kyiv) Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) began on the night of 21 November 2013 as a protest for greater integration between Ukraine and the European Union. It quickly gained support and shifted focus towards an anti-government uprising centring on the President, Viktor Yanukovych. This publication reproduces Anastasia Taylor-Lind's record of some of the men and women involved in this uprising and subsequent outpouring of grief. The images were made before and after the most violent passages of the protest.
