Summary:"In the 1930s, the Prague catholic academic milieu gave rise to the tradition of the Academic Weeks. The Dominican brothers (especially P. Metoděj Habáň OP) first initiated the event in 1933 in Břevnov, and they continued to organize events in subsequent years. ... Young Moravian Catholic intellecutals also took part in the Prague Academic Weeks and they soon came up with the idea of organizing a similar event in their locality. The Moravian Academic Weeks first took place in 1936 at the Svatý Kopeček (The Holy Hill) near Olomouc and had a diverse and interesting programme. The three annual events between 1938 and 1940 included exhibitions of contemporary young Christian art. ... The Olomouc Museum of Art reconstructs these exhibitions ... . The exhibition offers a rare and authentic glimpse into spiritual artistic life at the end of the First-Republic period."--Page 127
