Summary:	English summary: Recent influences on the study of history from the fields of language philosophy and literary studies are encouraging new interpretations of early Christian texts with regard to the relationship between the factual and the fictional. The contributions to this volume reflect on these impulses from an epistemological perspective and bring early Christian texts into the debate: How are factual and fictional modes of literary representation being applied to characters, events, themes and motifs? What intentions lie behind them? What are the effects achieved? Insights into the meta-discourse on the subject and the history of its reception complement the volume. German description: Neuere sprachphilosophische und literaturwissenschaftliche Einflusse auf die Geschichtswissenschaft fordern zu neuen Lekturen fruhchristlicher Texte im Hinblick auf das Verhaltnis von Faktualitat und Fiktionalitat.
