State of Connecticut. To the sheriff of the county of [blank] Greeting. Whereas [blank] who was constable of the town of [blank] in the county of [blank] and collector of the state tax for said town of [blank] in the year 17[blank] has neglected to make payment of [blank] in said year as the law requires, amounting to the sum of [blank] lawful money. As per account of the state treasurer, whereof execution remains to be done. These are therefore by authority of the state of Connecticut, to command you that of the money of the said [blank] or of his goods or chattels within your precincts, you cause to be levied, and the same being disposed of as the law directs, paid and satisfied unto the treasurer of this state for the time being, the aforesaid sum [blank] ... Hereof fail not and make due return of this writ, with your doings thereon according to law, within sixty days next coming.
