Notes:Two settings of the title page noted. In one, the line reading "original tongues" is printed in italic type and ends with a comma; the line reading "diligently compared and revised" is wider than that reading "translations." In the other, the line reading "original tongues" is printed in roman type and ends with a semi-colon; the line reading "translations" is wider than that reading "diligently compared and revised."
The New Testament, p. [625-815], has separate title page, with imprint the same as on title page for volume as a whole, but with High-Street in place of Market-Street. In some copies, the New Testament has imprint: Whitehall: Printed for William Young, Bank Street, the first house on the right-hand from Chesnut Street, Philadelphia. 1808. The New Testaments appearing with these variant title pages are from two different type settings. The copy that has been filmed for Shaw & Shoemaker 14487 includes the Whitehall New Testament only.
Variations in signing are also noted. In some instances the first leaves of gatherings are signed with large boldface letters; in others instances the first leaves are signed with the same smaller letters that mark subsequent leaves within the gatherings.
"This Bible is the property of [blank]"--verso of title page.
Text printed in two columns.
Not in: Shaw & Shoemaker.
