| 520 | 8 | |a Mulders maakt grote, kleurrijke, impressionistische doeken waarin de natuur opgaat in lagen en 'sluiers' van verf. Lampe schildert uitsluitend portretten. Maar niet als realistische weergave van een persoon. Ze haalt beelden van het internet en uit kranten. Deze eigent ze zich toe door ze in haar atelier opnieuw te fotograferen met behulp van modellen, rekwisieten en theatrale accessoires. Vanaf dit punt begint ze te schilderen. Ze zoekt daarbij het evenwicht in tonen en verhullen; in maskeren en onthullen. Door deze manier van werken ontstaat een soort 'tussenrealiteit' waarin Lampe ruimte vindt om invulling te geven aan haar ideeën. Bij Mulders geven verschijnselen als mist, nevel en dauw, én natuurlijk het licht, hem de mogelijkheid de natuurlijke en gelaagde werkelijkheid van bijvoorbeeld de bloemenakker samen te laten komen in een allesomvattend 'verfgordijn'.
