Review by Booklist Review

Five essays by as many authors cover, relatively succinctly, library issues involving CD-ROM licenses, recent developments in new-technology copyright, CD-ROM licensing issues per se, site licensing policies and CD-ROM networks, and how legal issues affect marketplace acceptance of CD-ROM. Although worth reading, the five are not nearly as interesting as the 11 sample licensing agreements reproduced in an appendix. These include material from SilverPlatter, Dialog, Auto-Graphics, Brodart, OCLC, PAIS, and others. In all, however, the book should be helpful for librarians developing and using CD-ROM technology with the public. ~--Patrick Dewey
