Summary:It brings together representative works of renowned French artist Christian Boltanski (b. Paris 1944) that evoke spiritual worship places and confront the viewer with the risks of not exercising the ability to recall, as well as with the certainty that life is inevitably exhausted. In his work, the artist has re articulated the notion of the sanctuary with art installations of enormous force. In the piece "Animitas" (2014), the artist conveyed from the Atacama desert in Chile a scene on video and real-time 500 bells that produced a magical sound collective to be moved by the wind. The title of the book comes from Latin "anima" (soul), for him, this installation represented the souls of equal number of people, at the time that formed a sort of map of the sky.
