Although the work of this English poet laureate has often been neglected or ignored by scholars and students of literature, Hamilton's comprehensive bibliography may pave the way for a reassessment of the life and work of Robert Bridges. The introduction outlines the course of the poet's life and discusses major trends in the criticism of his work, as well as describing the scope of this bibliography. Chapters 1 and 2 list in chronological order the editions of the poetry and drama, and the prose, respectively. The annotations are brief content or reprint notes. Chapter 3, the heart of the book, provides more than 900 citations of secondary material (written in English, with few exceptions): reviews, articles, essays, dissertations, books, and anthologies that contain work by Bridges. The citations have been culled from a wide variety of resources; this bibliography would be difficult to duplicate. The annotations of criticism are carefully constructed, descriptive, and thorough. Primary works, anthologies, and critical source material are indexed separately for ease of use. Highly recommended as a valuable resource for comprehensive collections of English literature.-R. Hanson, Muskingum College
