This British publication, edited by Black (Univ. of Cambridge), is a glossary of words and phrases used in teaching critical thinking. Nearly 130 terms are listed, each with a definition, fairly lengthy discussion, and examples. In addition, see also references help readers navigate through the book. Some entries include a "further reading" list as well. Unfortunately, the writing is unclear at times, and many terms used in the examples might not be familiar to those in the US (e.g., fishmonger, MP). A better choice is the free Educator's Guide to Critical Thinking Terms and Concepts, found on the website of the National Council for Excellence in Critical Thinking . Its Glossary of Critical Thinking Terms is free . Summing Up: Not recommended. P. M. Storm Eastern Michigan University
