Summary:This volume includes information on arachidonic acid metabolites and platelet activating factor. Assays for the quantitative measurement of prostaglandins, leukotrienes, and platelet-activating factor, including enzyme immunoassays and mass spectrophotometric techniques, are presented. Preparation and analysis of cytochrome P-450 metabolites of arachidonic acid are discussed. The isolation, purification, and assay of enzymes important in the biosynthesis and metabolism of these lipids are included.
