Summary:Investment executive Mellody Hobson was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 3, 1969. Hobson graduated from St. Ignatius College Preparatory High School in 1987. She attended Princeton University and received her B.A. degree from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of International Relations in 1991. She went on to work for Ariel Capital Management where she managed client services. In 2000, Hobson became president at Ariel Investments at a time when it managed more than $10 billion in assets. Hobson was a regular contributor on Good Morning America, CNN, and ABC News. She was active on committees, including service on the Board of Trustees of Princeton University and Tellabs, Inc. Hobson also served on the board of the Field Museum. Ebony magazine named her one of 30 Leaders of the Future. The 2001 Switzerland World Economic Forum named Hobson a Global Leader of Tomorrow. She married George Lucas in 2013.
