Summary:Corporate executive Henry "Art" Harper was born on December 3, 1955 in Trenton, New Jersey. Harper received his B.A. degree in chemical engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology in 1978. He joined General Electric in 1984 where he became president of GE Plastics of Greater China in 1996, and vice president of Global Manufacturing in 1998. In 2000, he became president and senior managing director for GE Plastics Europe; and, in 2002, for GE Equipment Services. A member of GE's Corporate Executive Council, Harper received the Black Achievers in Industry Award in 1994 and the Career Achievement Award at Stevens Institute of Technology in 1998. He received the Social Justice Hero Award from Fairfield County Region's National Conference for Community and Justice, and the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award from Boy Scouts of America in 2004. In 2005, Harper retired from GE and help to start NexGen Capital Partners.
