Summary:Talent manager Ramon Hervey II was born on October 18, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois. Hervey graduated in 1968 from Cabrillo High School in Lompoc, California. He received his B.A. degree in 1972 from Whittier College in Whittier, California. He served as publicist for Starlite Music Artistes booking agency in London in 1974 and worked for Hamlett Marsh Publishers in 1975. He joined Motown Records in Los Angeles as a writer/publicist in 1976 and served as vice president of talent at Rogers & Cowan in 1977. Hervey was co-president of The Group & Gibson Group from 1981 to 1986. In 1987, Hervey launched his personal management company. His first client was Rock n' Roll icon Little Richard. In 1984, Hervey was hired to work with recording star and actress Vanessa Williams. They married in 1987. He also managed other artists including Grammy Award-winning recording artist Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and gospel artist Andrae Crouch.
