Summary:Attorney Anne-Marie Clarke was born on June 25, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri. Clarke attended Northwest Missouri State University and graduated with her B.A. degree in political science in 1970. She earned her J.D. degree from Saint Louis University's School of Law. In 1981, Clarke became president of the Mound City Bar Association. In 1984, she wrote an article for the St. Louis Bar Journal, "The History of the Black Bar." Clarke became Juvenile Division Hearing Officer for the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri in St. Louis in 1986, where she remained for twelve years. In 1993, Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan appointed Clarke the treasurer of St. Louis' Board of Police Commissioners, and then in 1994, Clarke became the first female president of the Board. In 1998, Clarke served as the Family Court Commissioner for the 22nd Judicial Court. In 2005, she was assigned to the Domestic Relations Division.
