Summary:Television actor and television producer Charles Floyd Johnson was born on February 12, 1942 in Camden, New Jersey. He was accepted into Howard University in 1958. Although his major was political science, Johnson had an interest in communications. He joined the Howard Players theatre group while in college, and in 1962, Johnson went to Howard Law School. Shortly after graduation, he was drafted. He spent much of the Vietnam era working as a defense counsel for AWOL soldiers. He then worked as a copyright lawyer, while continuing to work in theater. In 1971, Johnson moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in the Professional Theater Workshop in Santa Monica. He worked in the mail room at Universal Studios, rising to production coordinator by late 1971. His career as a producer in Hollywood includes a variety of television programs, including Navy: NCIS, The Rockford Files, and Magnum, P.I.
