Summary: | Corporate executive Patrick Reginald Gaston was born on August 5, 1957, in Port Au Prince, Haiti, and moved with his family to Boston, Massachusetts, during his early childhood. He received his B.S. degree in management from the University of Massachusetts and his M.A. degree in business administration from Northeastern University. Gaston also earned an international certificate in business from Ecol Superieure de Commerce in Reims, France, before he began to work with Verizon. In 2003, Gaston was appointed president of the Verizon Foundation. In 2007, Gaston became an independent director and member of the audit committee of Bed, Bath & Beyond. He also served as president and CEO of Gaston Consulting and president of the Western Union Foundation. He served as a guest lecturer at several universities including Rutgers University and Dartmouth College.
