Summary: | Writer and publicist Gale Harriet Horton Gay was born on April 10, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York. Gay attended Washington Junior High School and Mount Vernon High School, where she graduated in 1972. She then entered Morrisville State College, and received her A.A degree in journalism in 1976. In 1978, she earned her B.S degree in communications from Syracuse University. Gay wrote for a number of publications, including the Oakland Press, the Fort Worth Press and the Dallas Times Herald. In 1987, Gay went to work for Scottish Rite Children's Hospital as the director of public relations. Gay then headed her own companies, Horton-Lind Communications and Horton Gay Communication, from 1993 to 1999. She has served as the managing editor of both the Champion Newspaper and the Good Life magazine, both published by Ace Communications; and, worked as a contributing editor with U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology Magazine and Women of Color Magazine. |
