Summary:Editor Alfred Fornay was born on June 8, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Fornay attended the Wilfred Academy of Beauty and Hair Design, the City College of New York, and the State University of New York's Fashion Institute of Technology. He worked as a beauty editor for several magazines, including Elan, Essence, and Ebony. In 1985, he was Ebony Man's first editor in chief. He was the creative director for Revlon's "Polished Ambers" collection and as a consultant with Fashion Fair Cosmetics. He contributed to a number of magazines and wrote four books: Fornay's Guide to Skin Care and Makeup for Women of Color published in 1989, The African American Woman's Guide to Successful Make-Up and Skin Care in 1998, Born Beautiful: The African American Teenager's Complete Beauty Guide in 2002, and Ageless Beauty: The Skin Care and Make Up Guide for Women and Teens of Color in 2009.
