Summary:Healthcare executive Otis L. Story, Sr. was born on November 17, 1951, in Anniston, Alabama. Story earned his B.A. degree from Cornell University in Cornell, New York, and his M.A. degree from the University of Chicago. He earned a second M.A. degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Story's career in hospital administration began at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. He became the Chief Operating Officer at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1990. Story became the Associate Executive Officer at University Hospital. He worked as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia in 1998. In 2001, he was named Chief Executive Officer for Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, and was appointed President and Chief and Executive Officer of the Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia in 2007.
