Summary:Magazine editor Corynne L. Corbett was born in New York City, New York. She earned her B.F.A. degree in fashion merchandising from the Pratt Institute in New York. She began her career at Elle Magazine in 1985 as an editorial assistant. She was later promoted to senior editor of beauty, health and fitness. In addition to Elle, Corbett also held key editorial positions at several magazines, including Real Simple, MODE, and Heart & Soul. Corbett's articles were featured in Ladies Home Journal and Ebony magazines. She founded Chic Jones Media, LLC in 2008. In 2010, Corbett was named beauty editor at Essence magazine. She was also brand strategist and image consultant for several companies, including Clinique, Maybelline New York, IMAN Cosmetics, L'Oreal USA, Bumble & Bumble, Black Opal, Christian Dior, Phyto and Coty. Corbett's professional memberships included the American Society of Magazine Editors and the National Association of Black Journalists.
