Summary:Building on the pool of artworks featured in the show Akram Zaatari: Tomorrow Everything Will Be Alright (Galpão VB/Associação Cultural, 2016), the book adds previously unseen contents to the bibliography available in Brazil on the seminal Lebanese artist. In addition to summaries providing insight into the context of the videos, installations, and the series of drawings featured in the show, it comprises an uncut conversation between Zaatari and the Brazilian curator Moacir dos Anjos as they comment on the featured artworks during a Public Programs event that took place during the exhibit; an essay by Mark R. Westmoreland, director of the Masterœs Program in Visual Ethnography at the Leiden University in the Netherlands, that looks into aspects of Zaatariœs work relating to desire and the recurring threat of war; plus the Akram Zaatari Archive timeline, highlighting turning points in the artistœs career, such as the creation of the Arab Image Foundation, and covering how his career intersects with the history of Videobrasil, the festival where Zaatari first showed a video of his, Teach Me, in 1996.
