This comprehensive, annotated bibliography lists more than 1,000 selected works in English or English translation that deal with Punjabis or Punjabi provinces. It includes today's Indian and Pakistani Punjab provinces, contemporary Haryana and Himachal Pradesh areas, the Kashmir region, and overseas Punjabi communities. The authors, who have long experience in Punjabi studies, cite materials on the region's geography, history, politics and economy, as well as its people, their culture, customs, education, literature, and religion. Entries are mostly devoted to books but include a small number of scholarly articles and a select list of journals, theses, and reference works. Appended are indexes of authors, titles, and subjects.
