Summary: | Photographic diary where Adriana Lestido (b. Buenos Aires, 1955) documented her adventurous trip to Antarctica in search for the "absolute white". The plan was to settle in the beautiful Esperanza Base, but a number of logistical and weather imponderables forced her to anchor in Base Decepción, a volcanic island where the snow melts just touching the floor, creating a pure black and gray landscape. The photographs were taken in Decepcion Island and Moon Bay, Antarctica, during the South Polar art residence in February and March of 2017. Page [126]. |
