| 520 | |a Im Laufe der vergangenen acht Jahre haben zahlreiche Künstler, die eingeladen waren, im Skulpturenmuseum Marl auszustellen, zu diesem Anlass ein neues Werk geschaffen. So entstanden Videoarbeiten, Skulpturen und Fotografien, die eine intensive künstlerische Beschäftigung mit den vielfältigen Aspekten des städtischen Lebens in Marl, seiner Geschichte und Architektur, seiner Kunst und seinen Menschen zeigen. Das elegant und zugleich statisch wirkende Pferd auf dem Creiler Platz in der Videoarbeit von Melanie Manchot greift beispielsweise die archetypische Form der Reiterstatue auf und hinterfragt den Einsatz von Kunst im öffentlichen Raum. Arbeiten wie diese spiegeln aus künstlerischer Perspektive die Facetten von Marl wider und tragen sie so in die Welt hinaus.
