Psychologists have demonstrated their impact on health and well-being, and the line between physical health and mental health--in research, practice, education, and policy--continues to blur. The distinguished contributors to this volume discuss programs that prevent illness, injury, and trauma and enhance family, community, and workplace health. The topics encompass research in healthy parenting, preventing violence, and addressing gender, sexuality, and health in various settings. Each of the book's sections focuses on a different population--families, communities, and workplace. In families, for example, psychological research focuses on building connections and developing healthy parenting programs. Overall, the book changes the paradigm from illness to health and demonstrates the impact of psychological education, research, and policy to reduce injury, trauma, and violence.
