Summary:	André Trocmé (1901-1971) is best known as the Protestant pastor of the French village of Le Chambon who organized the rescue of Jews during the Nazi occupation. After the war he became a leading voice for peace and reconciliation. In this classic work, now thoroughly edited and with updated notes, Trocmé explores the politics of Jesus, especially the social implications of his proclamation of the Kingdom of God and the Jubilee, and shows the ongoing relevance of his ethic of revolutionary nonviolence.
