This unusual book may not have the impact it deserves. Although it is written by a distinguished scholar, it does not interact with any other scholarship. It is accessible to general readers, but the radicality of the proposal is not made as apparent as it should be. The thesis is that Paul speaks of justification not in relation to faith in Jesus but rather faithfulness toward God. Basically the argument is convincing and the conclusions sound. Recommended for collections on all levels that include books on Paul's theology. General; undergraduate; graduate; faculty.
