Synod of Ohio; also known as Ohio Synod; erected in Ohio by Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. in 1814; split into Old and New School in 1838; Synod of Ohio dissolved in 1870 at reunion and reorganized along regional lines into the synods of Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland and Toledo; in 1881 the Synod was reconstituted by a merger of these regional synods.
