Summary:Like a diptych, Turungo proposes an analytical and documentary inquiry into the artistic work of Gonzalo Díaz, which includes work materials, production, records of the creative process of five emblematic works of the Chilean artist. Thus, this book opens with a conversation between Gonzalo and the philosopher Federico Galende with the aim not only of delving into the details about how the work of art is conceived and how the specificity in Gonzalo's work is concretized, but also in the dialogue of different elements of analysis that allow contextualizing his work in the current theoretical debates around the history of Chile in general, paying special attention to the political and artistic scope of his work. From this reflection as a whole, Turungo provides a perspective to get involved in the profuse archival work of, among others, Lonquén, Fotoperformance and Unidos en la Gloria y en la Muerte based on a diverse selection of documents that deal with the singularity not only of Gonzalo Díaz's creative work, but also of how the always complex relationship between art and politics is concretized.
