Description
Summary:All but two (the first and last) of the chapters in this book were commissioned by the European Commission as part of its programme of monitoring the impact of the European Single market. However the views expressed in them are those of the authors' and have not been subject to editorial control by the Commission. The book provides a mid-term review of the progress towards the single market in a variety of commercial and industrial spheres. It shows that there is little scope for easy generalizations about how the approach of 1992 is affecting industries and businesses, but there is no doubt that the advance towards the single market is having a radical effect on the structure of European industry and commerce.
