Summary:"It is impossible to overrate the power of personality. Personality is at the bottom of all real success and we can say it is almost the controlling cause of success. Without it men and women are failures, no matter how much money or worldly goods they may have. It is strange so few realize this. A great deal of money is spent on education which to a great extent is useless in practical life. Very often children are really prevented from letting their powers develop naturally. They are not allowed to express their own opinions which greatly interferes with that wonderful force which we know as Personality: We see everywhere that it is men and women with personality that win. Wealth, Titles, Birth, Name, everything, that is considered necessary to carry power and influence goes down before Personality. The men and women who have personality have the greatest power in the world. The day of Personality is really just beginning to dawn, and the man or woman who would be truly useful to his or her fellows who would hold positions of power, influence, and weight in the future, will have to cultivate their Personality. It can be cultivated easily. It is not a gift of the favored few. Some are born with greater endowment of it than others. But all can cultivate it. The time to start is in infancy. Few have had this advantage in early life, but it is never really too late to begin to cultivate and develop Personality. That part of your life that has passed is gone forever, but the future is ahead of you. Make the future worth while. No matter how you may have failed in the past for want of Personal charm and power, no matter how many times your deficient personality has caused you a big loss, you can start today to add to your life, that which you have so far lacked, and for the want of which you have been kept back in the rear ranks, thus letting others pass you by, to gain that which you should have won"--Book.
