Hargrave and Anderson's vague title would more appropriately be "Contextual Therapy with Families of the Aged." Boszormenyi-Nagy's contextual approach to family therapy has been widely applied since the early 1980s. The authors wrote for Journal of Family Therapy in 1990, applying contextual family therapy to older people. Their book contains some interesting case material, and is clearly written, but falls short of being a comprehensive review of family therapy with the aged. The first and last chapters give a very cursory overview of gerontology. Indeed, numerous articles and books specifically on family therapy with the aged are not cited. Libraries with the aforementioned journal will probably not need this book. T. L. Brink; Crafton Hills College
