Description
Summary:Although rarely attaining a length greater than 1 cm, members of the chelicerate order Pseudoscorpionida are a conspicuous component of many terrestrial ecosystems, and have received much attention from taxonomists, ecologists, and, to a lesser extent, behaviorists. This catalogue provides a complete list of all pseudoscorpion taxa described from 1758 to the end of 1988 (and a few papers published during 1989). The scope of the catalogue is primarily systematic, but papers dealing with all other aspects of pseudoscorpions, such as ecology, histology, etc., have been included. References have been obtained from many sources; these are included in the reference list, but their contents have not been incorporated in the catalogue. The introduction is trilingual (English, French, German). Distributed in the US and Canada by St. Martin's. (c) by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR.
