| Summary: | This book is a study of the female clergy of Amon in Thebes during the 21th dynasty. It proposes a new understanding of the female entity and develops a concept of the Two Mothers, Hathor and Mut. The author examines the social and political position of the women of the ruling family of the 21th dynasty. The analysis of their priestly titles provides a different interpretation of their religious roles and the meaning of the participation of priestesses in the ritual. |
