Description
Summary:Tijerina (history, Texas A&M U.) documents the two-way cultural interchange between Anglo-Americans and native Hispanic inhabitants (Tejanos) of Texas before 1836. Tijerina demonstrates that the Tejanos developed a system of locally funded schools supported by municipal land grants, and that Anglos assimilated many Mexican military principles as well as ranching and agricultural practices.
