Exploring expedition around the world, under C. Wilkes, U. S. N. commander, in the years 1838-1842. By James D. Dana. New Haven, Pub. by the author. "The subject of corals, in this volume, is treated exclusively in a zoological point of view. The geological questions with regard to the formation and structure of coral-reefs and islands, will come up for discussion in the author's geological report"--Preface, p. iii.
