Item Description: | Caption title. The two letters, addressed to his brother-in-law Capt. J.S. Allison and setting out Taylor's position as a candidate in the 1848 presidential election, are dated Baton Rouge, Apr. 22, 1848, and East Pascagoula, Sept. 4, 1848.
