Summary:"Featured within the pages of this book is the Orderbook of field commands issued by Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna to Major General Vicente Filisola during the Texas Revolution. The orderbook is the file copy of the commands dictated by Santa Anna to a subordinate ... After much consultation with fellow translators of historical documents written in Spanish, it was decided to keep as literal a translation as possible to preserve the spirit and content of the original commuiques. The entries were then arranged in chronological order and interworven within the narrative history of the Revolution. Moreover, an effort was made to investigate and present the cause, setting, continuity, and impact of each command before and after its issuance"--Jacket.
