Summary: | A debate has been raging in court rooms, journals, and the popular press about the validity of recovered memories of past events. Many of these memories are of sexual abuse and other traumatic experiences. Are these memories real? Many of the people remembering them are seeking help for psy-chological problems, and while these problems may stem from past traumatic events, these memories may also be generations of an already disturbed mind. In other cases, the memories may be suggested (intentionally or not) by the therapist.
