Schwartz and DeKeseredy examine the role of male peer-group support in the prevalence and incidence of unwanted offensive sexual behavior on college campuses. Although their inclusion of empirical findings is superficial, the authors provide more substantial coverage of a broad range of feminist theoretical positions on sexual victimization of women by men. Much of the book focuses on how male socialization and male group structure and interaction facilitates both negative attitudes and abusive behavior toward women. The final chapter presents a fairly comprehensive set of policy and action recommendations for reducing the victimization of women on campuses. The authors have made substantial contributions to the literature in this area. The book is well written and within the grasp of general readers and undergraduates. An appendix presents a specific case that effectively communicates the degree of trauma that victims suffer from what are commonly regarded as minor offenses. Adequate referencing and index. Recommended for general readers and undergraduates. R. T. Sigler; University of Alabama
