Review by Kirkus Book Review

Rather than select work from the careers of these three contemporary Greek women poets, Columbia professor Van Dyck--who's written an academic study of modern Greek women's poetry-translates one volume by each poet to better support her feminist view of their work: All born in the late 1940s, their verse in this bilingual edition breaks forms, and addresses the years of censorship during the military junta, from Jenny Mastoraki's violent and hermetic Tales of the Deep to Maria Laina's minimalist celebrations of autoeroticism (Hers), with Rhea Galanaki's prose narrative of baking and giving birth in between (The Cake).
