Summary:The basis of this essay is a lecture delivered in Berlin in 1911 to the annual meeting of the Verband fortschrittlicher Frauenvereine. The author, a professor at the University of Berne, gives an overview of the influence of women working upon the development of the race, that is, upon the physical health of human beings, whether the women themselves, or the children they bear.
