Editor Sanlo (UCLA) has designed this book of readings as a handbook for service provision to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) students, faculty, administrators, and support staff. The material is directed toward heterosexual administrators, faculty, and student affairs staff who wish to focus on these issues and perhaps make changes in their programs. The first 13 of 42 chapters cover topics discussing who GLBT people are and what special needs they might have; subsequent essays address student affairs topics including career planning, health issues, athletics, and administration and policy. Specific organizations focusing on GLBT groups, fraternities and sororities, student clubs, and programs also receive attention. An extensive listing of Internet resources is included in the "Lavender Web" section. Most contributors are affiliated with student affairs programs or academic departments in a range of US colleges and universities. Recommended for faculty, researchers, and practitioners in secondary and higher education institutions. B. O. Pressley; California State University, Hayward
