Description
Summary:This study examines a crackdown by police and the courts on street prostitution in Manhattan in the 1990s. Although indicators show that street prostitution disappeared after the crackdown, Weidner (criminal justice, U. of Minnesota Law School) contends that there was no reduction in prostitution overall. Instead, prostitutes moved to other areas, worked indoors, or took other measures to avoid arrest. c. Book News Inc.
