Description
Summary:As a result of the recent archaeological discoveries in the Thai village of Ban Chiang, scholars are reevaluating the role of Southeast Asia in prehistory. The pottery and bronze objects unearthed are of surprising antiquity and metallurgical sophistication, and suggest that this region was one of significant innovation and export of Bronze Age technology. This first book on the important archaeological excavations takes a problem-oriented approach. Illustrations, many in color, show the process of discovery at the site as well as the major pieces.
