Summary: | The first series of Restoration, broadcast in August 2003, captured England's imagination in a way no other program on architecture ever has. The series highlighted the crumbling treasures England could lose forever. Restoration also drew on the memories and knowledge of local residents, owners and conservation groups fighting to save these buildings. The series climaxed with a magnificent live event at the Tower of London and the announcement of the winning building, Victoria Baths in Manchester. The second series of Restoration will feature 21 buildings from across the UK, and again the public will be asked to vote for the building they most want to be saved. The book of the second series will feature an update on all the buildings that made the final of the first series, as well as focusing on all 21 buildings which have been chosen for the second series.
