Summary: | The Poor Side of the Netherlands is an anthology from the series Monitors. In addition to providing figures on the number of poor households, their composition and living conditions, this volume also includes information on groups with a high risk of poverty. Also contributions discuss the theme of social exclusion on the basis of the policy indicators adopted at the European level as well as on the basis of a new methodology. Finally, it devotes special attention to the dynamics of poverty, the poverty trap, and employment as an escape route from poverty. The Poor Side of the Netherlands is intended for policy-makers, researchers involved in monitoring, and anyone interested in learning more about poverty in the Netherlands. Cok Vrooman and Stella Hoff are affiliated with the Social and Cultural Planning Office in The Hague. |
