Encyclopedia of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is a very comprehensive general encyclopedia that brings together key aspects of the field, and tries to be inclusive, multidisciplinary, critical, international, educational, historical, scholarly, and most importantly, up-to-date. CBT unites the scientific and clinical approaches of the cognitive and behavioral sciences to understand the human mental condition, as well as to develop interventions that will improve the quality of human life. Entries are arranged alphabetically, are easy to navigate, and present philosophical/theoretical concepts, treatment and prevention methods, and future research directions. The entries are cross-referenced, with bibliographies at the end. They include current common disorders and conditions: phobias, eating disorders, anger, Internet addiction, pathological gambling, and more. Some 200 scholars worldwide, with multidisciplinary expertise, contributed to this volume, which ends with a list of contributors' affiliations and a comprehensive index. CBT is a good addition to reference collections, but the previously reviewed Encyclopedia of Behavior Modification and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, ed. by M. Hersen and J. Rosqvist (CH, Jul'05, 42-6244) is broader in scope. ^BSumming Up: Recommended. Upper-division undergraduates through professionals and clinicians; general readers. M.
